i received this pack in the early 1990's through U.S. Calvary's mail-order. Was traveling the country, much of it afoot. Wore out first pack early on. Needed something reliably stout. The CFP-90 was it! Altogether the pack served near ten years of travel and rough treatment. Easily over a thousand miles carried. Stuffed on fishing boats, Greyhound buses, hippie buses, back of trucks, etc. Never a rip, never a failure of the main pack. It was, and yet remains, a reliable field pack. As serviceable today as it was on mile one. A solid test i ended up putting it through.
There is only one stout zipper on the main pack. This never failed. And if it ever should, the pack material is strong enough for a sewn, buttoned, whatever, field fix. The zipper on the assault pack did fail early on. Perhaps due to near two years of over-stuffing it. Though i think the assault pack opening could have been designed a little better. Other than that the pack served exceedingly well. Well enough that i make my first internet product review after 12 years on the net. This pack is stout. Was put to the test. i could do it all over again, knowing this pack remains reliable despite the heavy use it has seen. i highly recommend it!

I just received this pack as well, seems to be very well built and also very large, Its got enough straps and snaps you could basically add on anything you want to. Doesn't move around to much after you got it tightened down and rides nice and high, so it doesn't get in your way when your moving around.
Mine also didn't come with the assault pack part of it, but they said they are mailing it out right now.
Just got it in. Heavy duty, others offered it in 1000 Denier but they couldn't beat the price at US Cav. I am extremely impressed. It seems more than rugged enough and very solidly built. Mine was missing the, supposed to be, included assault pack (which made it an EXCELLENT value) but a quick call to customer service and they had it on the way! Way to go!
