Pretty good for gear or hiking
This pack is nice, a good amount of space inside. There is an odd seperator that works well if you're not carrying anything long, but that can be easily removed by pulling out the parachute cord. Without the seperation, there is two main pockets, one accessible with the flap at the top, the bottom one with a zipper. There are three pockets on the outside, one long one, and two shorter ones. The short ones are good for storing knives, small tools, firestarters, loose things. The long one is good for a machete, a map. Then I store my tent, clothes, bag, and supplies in the main pocket. There is a hell of a lot of straps on it that you have to manage, which can make it a little annoying to get things every once in a while but keeps things quite secure. My only gripe is that there are some metal clips and stuff on the back that can rub when wearing no shirt or with thin shirts.
i bought this bag for the appalachian trail i leave february 28 im hiking georgia to maine i tell you how it last
This thing is very big, and sturdy. I haven't used it for much so far (i haven't gotten a chance to) but it looks really good.
Definitely a good deal for $90.

Good, Sort of
I took a BDU version of it I got from a surplus store years ago to an Army School. It was good in these areas: Chest buckle, helped take weight off the shoulders, lots of padding in the kidney and back, light frame built in.
This pack is huge, in fact, you open it up and look inside and you can just dump gear. Its great when its full and packed to the top, I'll carry real nicely, Its even got a nice sleeping system zipper at the bottom, but if its half full it rides low and drags on your back all day which is annoying.
In all it was much better than using that old crappy Alice Pack most folks got and I'm glad I took the CPF-90 over that, but it wasn't the be all end all of rucks. It road low and dragged all day, and your pack is bigger so you carry more stuff for everyone. When your rucking around all day in a mountain environment, your going to get smoked. I had to opportunity to ruck around all day with this thing for a couple weeks, so I have a pretty good idea of what that was like.
A few guys had some of the newer rucksacks out there, Don't know what they're called- but they were the better ones out of the two. This one is better than the old crappy Alice packs, but its not the best available anymore.
Look Closer, details not accurate
The outside pockets DO NOT have latches or keepers only draw strings for the pocket. The flap is free to blow in the breeze and allow water to enter the pocket. A POOR DESIGN.
I got the previously sold black one. You can't beat the price and there are features not mentioned in the description. The harness is fully adjustable to include adjusting the load so it doesn't pull you back. An inner pocket with strap like an ALICE pack. Two small pockets towards the bottom. Try searching for a comparable bag and you'll spend a lot more money.
Very sturdy pack with a lot of straps, so many in fact that I couldn't figure out what two of them did. Oh well. The only thing bad about this pack is that it came in a kind of worn condition. Guess its just bad luck. Would reccommend.
This pack is much bigger in real life than what it looks like in this picture...I really like it. Ideal for long backpacking trips solid.
it doesnt need more features if your in the military. if your that stupid for it to need more features then look at the other packs they have. Its perfect for weekend humps or daily use for busy people. I recommend it for active people out and about alot.
Digital CFP Ranger Pack
Sits well and high on your back. Large compartment smaller than MOLLE, but not by much! Possible to open up threshold between sleeping bag compartment and gear compartment to make one big one, NICE! Side pouches not removable. Top flap nice place for maps if only a bigger opening. Material repels water very well. Will review again in one year after tour with it in Iraq.
I got this pack to go on pack runs, it is great. Holds alot of gear and is comfortable. Clips are a little weak and would be better if had straps similar to the alice pack.
