Bought a pair while in Louisiana after the hurricanes...an extremely comfortable boot. Like a pair of slippers, completely waterproof, and did extremely well in broiling hot/humid weather (hottest September on record for NOLA, and fourth hottest month ever) and very warm with a thicker sock later (December can be damn cold right on the coast). Only problem I had was left boot started to sqeak when boot was approaching two years old. Lot of wear left on sole, but a quite audible squawk between midsole and sole...other than that, best boots I've owned (other than Danner Ropers, which I literally wore off my feet...
Best pair of boots I have ever owned! The only down side is that they are made in China!! BUILD AMERICAN AND BUY AMERICAN!!!!
Great Boots - Color too Dark for Army Troops
Great Boots, water-proof and very comfortable. But thet ARE finished in Marine Coprps Olive Drab. Despite how they look online, these boots are too dark to be authorized on most Army posts in garrison. They are darker than the regular Danner TFX that is often sold in the PX, and the eyelets are dark too. I tried lightening the boots using a plastic bristle brush, a mild bleach solution, and a few minutes of scrubbing. It worked, but did damage and harden the suede a little....other than that, no complaints whatsoever.
Danner Desert Eagle
Great service from US Cav as always... ordered the Danner brand thinking it was manufactured in the USA since they have a 30,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Not so with the Desert Eagle. Made in China. That being said, the quality is the expected Danner quality, materials are exceptional. I guess Danner has a tight leash on the Chinese manufacture which seems to making an exceptional product. Time will tell. Gonna give it 5 stars anyway even though I wonder if we make anything anymore!
Im convinced that Danner makes the most comfortable boots ive ever worn. you may as well be wearing a $200 pair of light running shoes that are perfectly formed to your feet! Along with their reconditioning department, these boots will last forever... almost!
