The Blackhawk CQC holster is the first holster I've ever owned/been issued that doesn't have me wishing for something else. In my honest opinion, it is the perfect holster. I don't think that the finger release slows me down at all on the draw. In fact, I think that it makes my draw better by ensuring that my trigger finger always ends up in the right place. The cut away in the front means that the weapon is ready very quickly. I use the paddle option almost exclusively and I find it to be much more secure and comfortable than any belt holster I own. Someone is going to have to come up with an amazing holster to beat this one. i recommend it without hesitation to anyone that asks.
PS: In case it matters to anyone, I use it with a Sig Sauer P229.
Best holster ever
This holster is the best I have used. It's easy to adjust, comfortable and offers great retention. I would recommend that everyone looking for a good holster buy this one!
This is my everyday carry holster. All the features you would expect from Blackhawk. The Serpa is an easy to draw holster and can be mounted with either the belt loop or paddle, no other holster offers both in the same package! Great little carry holster for on or off duty!
Best holster for law-enforcement
The holster's benefits are not in its ease of drawing, but rather in its ease of reholstering or securing. You simply place it in the holster and it clicks secure..no fumbling with thumbreaks to secure if you have to immediately reholster the gun..like apprehending a resistant subject..or when you need to free your gun hand immediately for other uses. The holster will hold the gun even if its turned upside down, wet, or shaken..try that with a thumbreak thats not snapped! This is by far one the best improvements in gun gear I've seen.
No more bleeding nailbeds from thumb releases!!
I've had mine for a year now and it is just as great now as when I first put it on. At first read, the securing mechanism sounded off, but after training at different ranges every month it is natural and easy. No need for a break in period either. If you can reach your gun, you can draw it out with this device. You can also run, roll and dive with this thing and never have to worry about the gun falling out. I wear mind daily and it's a comfortable carry compared to any other I've ever used.
I need a good holster for concealment purposes and I used a friends holster while here in Afghanistan. I thought it was a very good holster. I only used it for a few hours, but it served the purpose and it was comfortable.
