Ka-Bar lives up to its reputation in this knife. Strong, yet reasonably light, with great balance, and a comfortable grip. The factory edge is all anyone would ever need, and the kydex sheath fits well with paracord to attach to MOLLE/PALS systems, or can be hung from the hip and attached at the thigh. The leather sheath is easily modified to be quickdrawn from a secure position.
The Ka-bar is about the best overall utility-fighting knife you can choose. Good edge, grip and balance. If you lose or damage it, you only lost $50usd versus a $300 Randall...
No, its not the perfect fighting blade, and its not the perfect specialty tool knife, but with reasonable care and sharpening it is a great general use knife.
I recommend the plain blade and the leather sheath, not the bulky stiff Kydex sheath....
