Ok for spares
This product is not my first choice of anything to put on my shoes. If you are actually planning to put it on a pair of boots or shoes you wear all the time, don't. It is a great shining tool, but it is rather hard to use. I bought this product at my base exchange(same kit, black), and thought it was going to shine a pair of shoes that have been my test shoes for any product I use for leather. It shined well. But it is getting what I think of pimples. It is a rather messy looking product IF you do not blow the bubbles out on every layer. It is not a bad product for inspection shoes or for shining a pair of spare shoes.
If you are in any military or cadet program, do not use on your main shoes or boots. I have heard bad stories of it causing peoples feet to get too hot and blister and stuff. Entering winter, It is safe to wear daily, since you want a waterproof, shiney, warm shoe. In summer or hot weather, it is a absolute no. A few hours of elbow grease will get you that nice shine and you feel prouder knowing that you made the shoe shine, and it will not destroy the shoe in a matter of months of daily/ weekly wear.
To finish up, it is not a serious alternative to shining shoes with polish. If want to look great all the time, put a day or so of polishing and you will look professional.
I used this for the first time and was a little weary about using it due to a 50/50 on how it works. I have to say that it worked great and the shine is awesome. If you want a mirror shine try this producy. I will say that it takes time and you can not rush this. It took my 2 full days to do this correctly so do it on your days off. Great product.
This stuff will make your shoes look the best in your unit. except after a few months of using it, it will start to crack your shoes and you will have to buy new pairs. Some of my buddies used this and it looked great, but after a few months their shoes looked worse then before, if you want a real shine, without cheating, go with lincoln wax, that is the best stuff on earth.
Leather Luster Duty Equipment
If you use a duty belt and your parts HAVE to be patent leather - Leather luster lets you take regular plain leather parts and make them patent leather. This saved me money since I could take old stuff and make it new. The same thing with duty shoes if you have to have that patent leather look to match your gear.
How'd you get your boots so shiny?
This product works great! It gives your boots a patent leather shine. However, you MUST follow the instruction carefully. When they says apply a thin coat they mean it. This is the key to a great finish.
I used this at 2 encampments and at meetings in between.I use my boots for almost everything, camping, hiking, working, meetings, encampments. They still have a shine.Sometimes they get dusty due to a dry climate but that only calls for a quick field shine done by the back of your pant leg.Its the best i've done yet for my boots!
Leather Luster is not for amateurs
Leather Luster is only a problem if you don't know how to use it. In skilled hands, it is the best shoe/boot shining product on the market. It can make a mess, but the results of proper application are well worth the risk.
DO NOT BUY
if you want something that will completely destroy your boot, buy this
