Excellent Survival Tool
Rating: 5.0 Stars
This is an excellent and well made knife. Out of the box it came with a really sharp edge, with a beveling wide enough for chopping without chipping. Having owned this knife for nearly a year, I have put together shelters with it, constructed snares with it, gutted fish with it, and easily kept a ready supply of firewood for 3-5 day trips. But a lot of knives are equally capable of doing this, so what makes it stand out? The answer: the combination of the ease of which these tasks are completed and the durability of the knife itself. Its weight lends itself to heavier work, but when it comes to finer work I have never found it to be unwieldly either. I have put other knives through the same treatment and only my KA-BAR has come out in as good or better condition afterwards. What can't this knife do? I wouldn't throw it, and trying to use it as the steel half of your flint/steel kit can be frustrating, though not impossible. Its just that the coating on it prevents really getting a good shower of sparks. Also, as others have mentioned, it is not a combat knife. It is an ASEK (Aircrew Survival and Egress Knife). If you're looking for a combat knife, try the Mark II, or even a non-serrated KA-BAR. Well that's my time, I hoped this helped those of you who are looking for a good survival knife.

Gets the job done

This is a pretty good knife. Its not a tactical blade though. It does what it says it does which is mostly combat related. It would be a go to tool in a hostile environment, but it isnt a kill blade or a tactical weapon. It will batton wood pretty decent, but its main focus is for getting you the hell out of a danger zone.

Great Knife

Alright this knife is excellent. The sheath alone is by far one of the nicest ballistic sheaths I have seen. It comes with well made nylon leg straps with like a rubber substance on it to stay secure on your leg. The sheath has a sharpener built in. The knife has that quality feel and works well as a good all around knife. At the end of the knife is puncturing tool for glass/ plexi-glass. Well-made

Best Knife I Have Ever Owned!
Rating: 5.0 Stars
This Knife can be described as profoundly capable. The blade is large and well proportioned. I like the way the knife is balanced, it moves well in one's hand. The serrations are aggressive and saw through branches with ease. The knife can also be used to split large pieces of wood. The hammer is located to one side of the hilt. The glass breaker works great(I tried it.) I also heard a story of a soldier using this knife to cut through a helicopter windshield to self-extricate himself from a wreck. Sounds tough enough to me!
