Great Piece of Clothing
I recently received my new Gen III. I thought that it was not quite as heavy as a polar 300. But when I wore the jacket it kept me very warm! It will be a blessing both when on duty and also out ice fishing this winter. You should get one or more. Well made too!
Go a Size Bigger
Fleece is good comfy and worth the money, just go a size bigger. Over the top of the ACU blouse it is a little tight. Other than that worth the money. Identical to the one at Clothing Sales.
This jacket is great! The only draw back is I wish it had a draw pull at the bottom. It's extreamly light weight, fits very well and provides good movement. With this being allowed to wear without the shell now, it'll be perfect almost year round. Great Buy!
Light weight and warm as expected. In the picture above, this jacket appears to have a lengthy and tapered fit. However, it fits worse than a typical military issue item. I ordered a Large since that is the size of all my civilian outerwear. The jacket fits correctly in the chest, but the overall fit of the jacket is tailored more to likes of someone with a large belly and short, skinny arms. The waist of the jacket hangs like a bell and comes up short of covering the length of my ACU coat. The sleeves are tight around the forearm and the cuffs barely reach my wrist. Had I ordered an XL size jacket to accomodate for length in the sleeves and the body, I would have an even baggier fit around the waist. I am hoping that one day our militray clothing manufacturers will realize that there are tall, slender people in the military and stop making these cookie-cutter fits for short overweight soldiers.
Lighter than most
I just received my GEN III Fleece. This jacket replaced the black fleece jacket. This jacket is about 1/3 lighter than the ones my troopers are wearing- which they bought in Clothing Sales. Also, like other reviewers of the lighter version remark, the sleeves are short and extremely tight. The NSN on the jacket(8415-01-538-6747) matches DLA and ArmyProperty.com lists- it is the real thing...but most of your frieds/Soldiers will be wearing the civilian version with no NSN attached. FYSA.
