Very Tasty and Oddly Filling
The Soldier Fuel bar is no joke. It's like you're eating a dessert bar instead of an essential food source. It almost makes you feel guilty... almost. After pounding one of these down, I no longer felt hungry afterwards, a usual feeling after eating the equivalent commercial energy bar. The Chocolate bar is the best one, but the Peanut Butter version is just as good. I use these on patrol and in my civilian job, where leaving to grab a bite to eat, or taking the time to have a sit-down lunch isn't applicable.
These things are awesome. The chocolate ones taste and work great, despite the cheap appearance, and I really do feel energized after eating one. Great for pre-exertion or in the middle of a long physical outing.
In all my years as a Police Mountain Bike Officer, I have always looked for an energy bar that would be a healthy midday meal supplement. The irony is that I ended up joining the Army National Guard to find that perfect energy bar which was supplied in a Meal Ready to Eat (MRE) packet.
Overall, I would rate the Hoorah Bar far above most other energy bars in nutrition and taste, which in my opinion is great. My biggest surprise is that Hoorah bars have provided me an even source of energy and protein that has not send me crashing an hour or two after digestion. My only regret is that Hoorah bars are not supplied in every MRE.
Love these things
Me and my buddies where hiking through the moutians at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and we where hitting the all time low after about 25-30 miles and we stopped to eat and these just happend to be in our chow bags and man did they give us some power we trucked it all the way to the next site no problem.
HOOAH Energy Bar
For a while, my local GNC carried packs of this bar. It is some good stuff, and is quite chewy, and it should help you through the day if you have one for breakfast. The only flavor I tried was the Chocolate Crisp, so I do not know how the others taste. Nonetheless, I do recommend this.
